Trading Review: 08-08-2016

Gross PnL: +$2308.

Net PnL:  +$2273.

Nice to have cheap brokerage again. Easily traded 10k shares today, and approximately 25 tickets.

Preparation: 8/10
Patience: 6/10
Risk-Reward: 7/10
Discipline: 6/10
Flexibility: 6/10
Greed: 8/10
Over-trading: 6/10

Pretty good day, with some minor mistakes - which affected pnl to varying degrees. Really nice to have a home-run day though, not something I'm going for though, just that the opportunity came up.

Interesting event today is that I deliberately went over max size on ISNS. I did this in the correct way, but there is a risk that I get sloppy on sizing as a result of a success with it. The correct way was to mentally prepare for it, noting down the requirements to go above max size prior to market open, and then executing on the requirements.

A very general theme for today (in terms of my mistakes), is that I was lacking discipline and had fomo on entry. The above scores don't quite capture this idea because I usually talk about patience for entry, and discipline for cutting losses. As an example, I was looking to knife catch BMY into support, and when it did a tiny over/under a crappy level I bought. It's not patience, but is definitely fomo driven and I would say a "sort of" lack of discipline because of acting on impulses. These are executional errors, not trade idea errors. There was a similar example in ISNS of this error, but unfortunately it doesn't show up very well on the m2 chart.

Another thing that I'm pretty gutted about is the under capitalisation on ISNS. Nailed the first trade, and then didn't manage to catch the next leg down, which would have yielded similar profit.
